VNPT’s 5G averaged 311.11 Mbps download and 52.7 Mbps upload over the same month.
Fixed-line broadband is not far behind. Nationwide fixed broadband averaged 256.86 Mbps download and 170.28 Mbps upload in January 2026 on the same i-Speed data. So on any city block already covered by fibre or 5G, Starlink Vietnam offers no speed advantage at all. Its advertised peak sits below Viettel’s measured 5G average and roughly level with the national fixed broadband average.
There is a second, less obvious asymmetry in that comparison. The Viettel and VNPT numbers are measured averages from real user tests, while the Starlink Vietnam figure is a marketing ceiling.
